Compensation Frame

This grand fortepiano was made by William Stodart & Son in London approx. between 1825 - 1830 and is a fine example of the by William Allen and James Thom in 1820 patented "compensation frame".
The case is made in mahogany, ivory keyboard,
the nameboard is signed with:
"Patent
William Stodart & Son.
Maker to His Majesty & the Royal Family
Golden Square
London"
The instrument is in good condition, only one small crack in the soundboard, at some tuning pins in the bass area is a crack, five hammers are missing, original tuning pins, two pedals (dampers and una corda).

The lyra was not assembled for taking the photos.
